You are going to love your new Jeep and its capabilities. As described in the video by Matt Kerr, Sales Consultant at Tunkhannock Auto Mart, the 2012 Jeep Compass has the “Classic Jeep Styling”. The exterior builds upon the Jeep brand’s iconic styling, attitude, and all-weather driving capability. Whether its rain, snow, dirt or mud your Jeep Compass was built to handle the rough stuff.

Now if its rock climbing or trudging through creeks Dave Senkow, Managing Partner of Tunkhannock Auto Mart, states the Jeep Compass isn’t exactly what you may be looking for; it does have some off-road power but he recommends the Jeep Wrangler for the more aggressive off-road enthusiast. Dave Senkow says the 2012 Jeep Compass is designed to appeal to the consumer looking for an affordable SUV with good fuel economy (estimated 28mpg). And because it is a crossover, which means it has car-like handling, the 2012 Jeep Compass is more practical for commutes to the office than other off-road vehicles.

The Jeep Compass features are inspired by the Grand Cherokee. Its exterior styling cues include the classic Jeep seven-slot grille with Chrome surround, rounded headlamps, front fenders, and the new hood, and fascias that was added in 2011.

If you need an affordable off-road SUV, the 2012 Jeep Compass offers a suitable balance between workplace commutes and off-road adventures.

The Compass is available in three trims: Sport, Latitude and Limited.

The 2012 Jeep Compass shares the same platform as the Patriot, the Compass is offered in both front-wheel and full-time four wheel drive configurations. At Tunkhannock Auto Mart they find the demand to be more for the full-time four wheel drive. The Front-wheel Sport and Latitude trims are powered by a crisp 158-hp 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, while all other models get a 172-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine (optional on the FWD Sport and Latitude). Available transmissions include a five-speed manual and a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with manual shift mode, basically it is an automatic.

Sport trims are equipped with 17-inch aluminum wheels and fog lights as Matt Kerr, Sales Consultant of Tunkhannock Auto Mart points out, other features include fog lights, air conditioning, cruise control and a CD player with MP3 capability. While Latitude trims add comfort for those winter months with heated front seats, and for the active individual or marathon shopper it also benefits from a fold-flat passenger seat which is demonstrated in the video. This allows you to place longer items into the cabin, like skis or a latter if you wish. The leather steering wheel not only provides luxury, it is also integrated with audio controls, just one of the many safety features found in this Jeep Compass.

The Limited is further outfitted with 18-inch aluminum wheels, a power driver’s seat, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio and a 6 disc CD/DVD player. Trail RatedA 4X4 capability is available with a Freedom Drive 11A Off-Road package that includes a 4-wheel drive off-road mode, hill descent control, all-terrain tires, skid plates, tow hooks and a brake lock differential. Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, electronic stability control with roll mitigation, traction control and side-curtain air bags.

Redesigned last year, the Jeep Compass carries over with minimal changes for 2012; with the exception of the New Latitude trim states Matt Kerr. Join him on his walk-around video of the Jeep Compass.
