Consumer autos stalwart Kelley Blue Book is among the most trusted places on the web for buyers to price new and used vehicles. And KBB is trusting Jeep in it’s kbb.com 2010 Residual Value Study.
The study says the 2010 Jeep brand vehicles will maintain 35.7 percent of their original value after 5 years of ownership – more than 3 percent above the industry average.
“This achievement is a testament to the strength and heritage of the Jeep brand,” said James Bell, Executive Market Analyst – Kelley Blue Book. “The word ‘Jeep’ has long stood for strength, portraying the vision of what a Jeep is, and what it can do. The Wrangler has, and continues to be the backbone of this marque, drawing a strong and loyal following, helping to maintain it’s value”
While eight of the brands in the studys top 10 declined versus their 2009 values – with the industry average declining 1.6 percent – the Jeep brand’s resale value improved 2.8 percent for 2010. Please visit us at www.TunkAutoMart.com

Rosemary Beef Tenderloin

Ingredients

   2  Tbsp. Dijon-style mustard

   1  Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil

   1  Tbsp. snipped fresh rosemary

   3  cloves garlic, minced

   3/4  tsp. salt

   1/4  tsp. ground black pepper

   1  2-1/2 to 3-lb. center-cut beef
      tenderloin roast or boneless pork
      top loin roast*

1  4- to 6-oz. log garlic and herb goat
      cheese (chevre), cut crosswise into
8 slices or 1/2 of an 8-oz. tub cream
cheese spread with chive and onion

   Snipped fresh rosemary

   Garnishes (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In a small bowl combine mustard, oil, 1 tablespoon rosemary, garlic, salt, and pepper. Spread mixture over the beef tenderloin or pork loin. Place roast on a rack in a shallow roasting pan.

Place roast in oven. For medium-rare doneness, roast the beef, uncovered, for 35 to 40 minutes or until internal temperature registers 135 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer. Cover with foil; let stand 15 minutes before slicing. Meat temperature will rise about 10 degrees F on standing. (For medium doneness, roast, uncovered, for 45 to 50 minutes or until meat reaches 150 degrees F. Cover and let stand as directed above.)

Cut roast into 8 slices about 1 to 1-1/2 inch apart, cutting to, but not through, bottom of the meat. Tuck a slice of goat cheese into each cut (or spoon 1 tablespoon cream cheese into each cut). Sprinkle with additional rosemary. To serve, slice through the meat between each cheese portion. Serve roast with figs, steamed beets, and steamed baby artichokes.

Serves 8.

Showdown in the parking lot: Dodge Ram vs. Ford F-150

Everyone seemed a little shocked when I, the office’s token transplanted New Yorker, expressed interest in driving the two largest vehicles currently in our fleet, the Dodge Ram and Ford F-150.
“Have you ever driven anything that big before?” someone asked.
“Does anyone even drive pickups this size out East?” asked another. The story was even pitched to me as, “New York city boy comes to the Midwest, experiences big manly trucks in their native setting.”
Guys, come on. (I don’t look like that much of a “city boy.” Right?)
How hard could it be? I’ve used a previous-generation Toyota Land Cruiser and a Series-II Land Rover Discovery before that as daily drivers. If I can squeeze them into parking spaces in the Big Apple, I should definitely be able to wheel a pickup truck around the block in Ann Arbor.
Earlier in the week, I walked out to the parking garage to have a look at our test vehicles. There, parked with their noses extending into the flow of traffic, obscuring the path of dueling subcompacts fighting for spaces, sat the largest, longest, and highest-end versions of the Ram and F-150. In the garage, sandwiched among Civics and Camrys, the trucks finally revealed their maxed-out scale. With a healthy grin, I set out two days later with associate editor Eric Tingwall and photography intern Andrew Trahan to test the mettle of these luxurious yet brutish trucks in the supposedly rugged Midwest.

Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Wilkes Barre, Scranton Pa has 0% Financing

Just Announced, Chrysler is offering 0% APR for 60 months* to qualified customers through their new finance partner, GMAC, on the following products: Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Ram Heavy Duty, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Commander.

Asked about this latest development Dave Senkow, managing partner of Tunkhannock Auto Mart, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep, said “we are excited to be working with GMAC”. Tunkhannock Auto Mart is conveniently located just 20 minutes south of Scranton and 30 minutes north of Wilkes-Barre Pa. Want a Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep? Please visit Tunkhannock Auto Mart for the best customer service in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Tunkhannock Auto Mart of Wilkes-Barre, Scranton has been helping families buying new and used cars for generations. People come from all over Luzerne and Lackawanna County to buy from Tunkhannock Auto Mart of Wilkes-Barre, Scranton. Not only do customers come from Wilkes-Barre, Kingston, Mountain Top and Scranton; they also travel from as far as New York to buy a Jeep Patriot or drive from New Jersey to buy a Dodge Grand Caravan.

With June being National Safety month, don’t overlook safety features when comparing different models. Antilock brakes and electronic stability control, for instance, are effective and well worth the money.

“Jeep Trail-Rated” is a new way that Jeep is communicating to consumers their commitment to creating vehicles that excel in their off-road capabilities. The “Jeep Trail-Rated” insignia will be affixed to all 2004 Jeep vehicles with 4WD: Grand Cherokee, Liberty and Wrangler. “Jeep Tail-Rated” signifies that the vehicles have passed off-road testing by the Nevada Automotive Test Center (NATC) — which evaluates vehicles for traction, ground clearance, off-road articulation and water fording.

Even the simplist thing left untreated can be a threat to you and your families safety. Underinflated tires can hurt handling and fuel economy, as well as cause premature wear—or a possible blowout—of the tire. Yet a tire can lose air so slowly that many drivers don’t realize its happening. A government regulation requires all new vehicles made after October 31, 2006 to have a low-tire-pressure warning system. The type of tire-pressure monitor we favor measures tire pressure directly. A competing technology, and one the government has approved, gauges air loss indirectly by using sensors to count wheel revolutions. We don’t think those systems are sensitive enough. In any case, we suggest regularly checking your tires with a conventional tire-pressure gauge.

Remember, though, that the most important thing you can do to protect your life is to buckle your seatbelt. Belts save lives on their own, but many of the more advanced safety features, such as seatbelt pretension and air bags, only work best for people who are buckled up to start with. We look forward to seeing you at Tunkhannock Auto Mart, minutes from Scranton or Wilkes-Barre Pa.
